Projected balances

Monarch’s Cash Flow shows where your money went. Projected balances shows what’s coming: checking day by day ahead, with the paychecks, bills, card payments and everyday spending you can expect. You see a low point before you get there, not after.

It sits on Cash Flow, under Monarch’s chart, and looks as far ahead as the month, quarter or year you’re viewing.

How much you could move out of checking today, to spend, save or pay a card down early, and still have every bill paid, every card’s minimum met, and the amount you keep in checking untouched for the weeks ahead and through the next payday.

If you budget toward goals in Monarch, free cash shows how much of it is already promised to them and how much is truly free. It also appears in Recurring’s month summary, so it’s there when you check your bills.

If checking would dip below what you keep, Projected balances shows where the money would come from: your cards first, in the order you choose, then any reserve accounts. It marks the day a card would max out, or checking would run out, so you can move money or shift a payment before it happens.

What an average month ahead leaves after income, bills and everyday spending. Below $0, you’re falling behind a little each month.

  • Monarch’s recurring income and bills, on the due days you’ve set
  • Wingspan’s bills and card payments
  • Everyday spending, at your recent pace
  • Each card’s statement, paid as far as checking allows, with anything left over carrying interest
  • Bills that are already late

Money going out counts as soon as it’s pending, and money coming in once it lands, so free cash never runs ahead of what’s really there.

On Cash Flow, open Edit cash and cards and choose which accounts are checking, which savings accounts are reserves, which cards to count and in what order, and how much to keep in checking. With Monarch’s businesses, the household and each business have their own settings.
